News & Messages from Greenpeace and related Campaign Groups

Various sources indicate that the crucial second reading and Parliamentary debate of the Energy Bill will take place next Wednesday, 19th December, although official confirmation is still awaited.

Climate Bloc – http://climatebloc.wordpress.com/the-energy-bill-will-cost-the-earth – plans to hold a demo outside Parliament that evening, from 6pm. Some of us from Kick Nuclear thought it would be a good idea to protest against the long-term contracts planned for new nuclear power stations and other nuclear subsidies while the debate is taking place inside Parliament (we don’t know the time yet), as well as joining the Climate Bloc demo (which may not be at the same time as the debate).

So it would be great if you are able to make yourselves available next Wednesday. I’ll confirm the details as soon as possible.
